As I distance myself from the cookie cutter norms of society my friendship circle coincidentally gets smaller. Last Friday I found myself alone, tipsy and completely satisfied. I attempted to invite others for gallery hopping but as usual I was unaccompanied. Without the appropriate partner in crime I found myself a bit apprehensive about indulging in art and liquor alone. Nonetheless after going to the first two openings I decided to cut my social umbilical cord. Making my way through the heavy populated Chelsea galleries I began to reevaluate the people in my life and how their influence may or may not have contributed to my development.
The moment this reflection came into my mind I found myself staring up at a masculine driven painting that had a penis ejaculating onto a keyboard. It is precisely here that I arrived at my climax of thought, (with the help of the ample supply of Stella Artois of course)! I seriously need to cut the friendships out of my life that are no longer benefiting me in a positive way. I have grown tired of chasing after people just with the hopes of sustaining some already forgotten friendship. I don’t mean to sound self indulgent but at the end of the day you are the company you keep. So as I tighten my conglomerate I'm compelling you to do the same!
