Finally one of my all time favorite books from childhood has been adapted into a movie and is set to be released on October 16, 2009. Maurice Sendak was the original writer and illustrator of this children's fairytale written in 1963. Usually I'm a bit sinister towards others re-making classic literature into films but I am overjoyed to find out that Spike Jonze wrote the screenplay and will be directing this movie.(He also directed Being John Malkovich.)
