Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland

While a big fan of Tim Burton's weird creations I can't say that I'm fond of Johnny Depp playing the role of the Mad Hatter in this remake. This isn't to say that I feel Depp or Burton's hand in this movie will result in catastrophe, I'm just being hesitant to the whole idea of a re-adaptation. Alice in Wonderland is one my favorite stories and I would hate for it to be turned into something totally opposite of its original meaning.

As you may remember Depp played Willy Wonka in the 2005 Burton version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The 1971 version where Gene Wilder shines as Willy Wonka is the epitome of every child's fantasy whereas the 2005 version just altogether feels like a bad acid trip. Keeping in mind that Alice in Wonderland is really a shorten version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, we shouldn't be surprised if Burton takes us on another interesting trip. Definitely bring your grounder! lol
